Stephen Brownlee

Master Darkroom Printer

Stephen Brownlee attended the Atlanta College of Art at the High Museum in Atlanta, Georgia and is a fine arts photographer whose work is in the permanent collection at the Don Nixon Center for the Performing and Visual Arts in Newnan, Georgia. A former partner in the Serenbe Art Gallery and manager of the photography lab space at Serenbe (a pioneering community model connected to nature on the edge of metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia), Stephen’s work has shifted from literal photography to the world of symmetry and fractal. As the Foundation’s Master Dark Room Printer, Stephen has worked extensively to digitize and restore the appearance of physical photographs, which have been damaged by natural, manmade, or environmental causes or simply affected by age or neglect.
